Set against the sprawling, hazy backdrop of Los Angeles, PEOPLE & THINGS follows four twenty-somethings over the course of five days as their lives drift in and out of each other’s orbit. Newly single Matt is curious about Leena — a jobless homebody weighing life on social media against something more real. There’s just one catch: Leena is the roommate of Annie, who is dating Matt’s roommate, Luke. What unfolds is an intimate, funny, and quietly aching portrait of people trying to connect in an age that keeps pulling them apart. The film speaks directly to a generation worn thin by hustle culture under the umbrella of the digital age, and the search for something authentic. From writer and director Ishan Parikh, comes this sincere and deeply human drama made entirely with a LA-based cast and crew and filmed across the real streets, landmarks, and local businesses of the city it portrays.
